Euro NCAP gab auch Lob an den Mazda CX-5 für die Auswertung dermaximalen Punktzahl in beiden Seitenaufprall-Tests, das einzige Auto der vier in diesem Test, dies zu tun, während der i30 geschafft, Excel in der Kinder-Insassenschutz. Stellte jedoch fest, dass der Euro NCAP i30zeigten auch schwache Schutz der Brust an der Seite Pol-Test.
